Hello everyone and welcome to The Vortex, where lies and falsehoods are trapped and exposed, coming to you live from our Church Militant studios here in Detroit, Michigan on the eve of the U.S. midterm elections which are of tremendous importance to Catholics — not only in the United States but around the world.
The Church Militant crew has been preparing for these elections for quite some time now, with content meetings, rehearsals, pre-production of graphics, scripts, research — working not quite day and night seven days a week, but pretty close to it.
We are dedicating so much of our resources to covering politics because the political life of a nation is something Catholics have traditionally been extremely involved in, ever since we began arriving on these shores in large numbers almost since the nation's founding.
It why we pour all this preparation time into our coverage. Of course, the big networks have many more resources available to them with their multi-million dollar budgets, but none of them will even consider looking at this through a Catholic lens — which is what Church Militant brings you.
Catholics usually vote in larger percentages than their population relative to the overall population. In short, we have almost always been more engaged with the political life of the country — realizing our duty not just supernaturally to be involved in the redemption of the world through prayer and penance and evangelization, but also in doing whatever can be done to help create a society that will not impede our natural efforts in the supernatural work.
We've been spending a lot of time prepping for our coverage of the Senate races, for example, so that on election night we will be able to bring you informed coverage of those races involving who will end up with control of the U.S. Senate — the body responsible for confirming judges and justices to the federal courts — lifetime appointments.
We all remember the digital bloodbath over the Brett Kavanaugh hearings in late September and early last month, because that battle was all about abortion — and the Left readily admitted.
That war was a continuation of the 2016 campaign, which Church Militant covered wall to wall for you on election night two years ago, a campaign where the subtext was all about abortion and control of the Supreme Court.
The volatility of all these races — especially in the U.S. House — is making our preparation here at Church Militant more challenging than we would like, but none of that is deterring us from doing what we need to do, which is to help you understand all this from a supernatural level.
Heaven frequently works through the natural efforts of the sons and daughters of the Church, and remember that millions of Rosaries have been offered for the good of the country in specific relation to these midterm elections.
There is not a stone that has been left unturned in our preparations. Like we said, creating what seems like hundreds of graphics, and collectively reading hundreds if not thousands of articles and polls and surveys, all with an eye to what matters specifically to Catholics and other people of goodwill.
Helping build the Kingdom of Heaven is intimately bound up with politics and the governance of a nation, and especially a nation with the status of world leader. What happens in the United States impacts virtually every other nation in the world by virtue of our economic might and cultural imperialism.
If the culture can be converted to a culture of life, it will have a tremendous impact on the rest of the world, not just America. Are politics the only way this is accomplished? Of course not, but it is perhaps the most hands-on manner because every citizen can vote.
Faithful Catholics are ultimately citizens of the City of God, but while we are here on Earth, we have dual citizenship in the City of Man as well.
While here, we must do everything we can to mold the City of Man to be receptive to the City of God.
So please join us for our wall-to-wall coverage tomorrow night beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Time — right here on Church Militant — as we bring you everything you need to know on election night through the lens of the Catholic faith.
Thank you for all your prayers and support. We will be spending the rest of today and all day tomorrow putting the finishing touches on our preps getting ready for tomorrow night.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
