Allow us to share a short quote with you from Servant of God, Fr. John Hardon, from his work "The Secret to Defeating the Devil":
[T]he genius of Satan is to deceive the human mind in order to seduce the human will. Memorize that logic. Satan knows that all the evil in the world begins with error. Let me repeat. Satan knows that all the evil in world begins with error. In other words, all sin in the human heart begins as untruth in the human mind.
Human beings are wired for the truth. It's how we are created. It's how we are built. No one asks a question hoping to be lied to. Intellectual deception is the root of all satanic activity.
This is precisely what is going on in this election, for example. Hillary Clinton and her campaign and supporters are tools of the diabolical because they despise the truth. That's what was at the heart of the "deplorables" comment from her a couple of weeks ago. The people she demonizes — which is rich, in itself, that the tool of demons goes around demonizing people — those people are religious-minded, God-fearing people, people of faith who object to the evil present in the world for its own sake, not because they hate gays or women or any other stupid charge.
People of religion hate evil, as they should. God hates evil.
But for those who have willingly given themselves over to the diabolical, truth must be destroyed. The intellect must be defeated. When the defeat of the intellect is accomplished in a person, then all that is left to rule the person are his passions. And those passions lead to any vice you can imagine.
For this reason, the intellect must be steeled against the invasion of anti-truth. Anti-truth is lies, and Satan is the Father of Lies. This is why we here at Church Militant feel the need to point out the great flaws and sins of omission in various members of the hierarchy, because way too many times, through the omission of their duties, lies are allowed to be perceived as truth.
Sin dulls the intellect; it makes you stupid. You lose wisdom. Grace elevates the soul, the intellect and the will toward God. Grace makes you smart.
We aren't talking necessarily about your IQ score. There are plenty of people burning in Hell right now who had high IQs while on earth; Judas, for example, was smart enough to handle the money. No, authentic intelligence goes beyond mere earthly intellect. It refers to supernatural intellect, the ability to know the will of God in your life and in life's circumstances.
The only way to excel in this intelligence is through grace. And grace comes through prayer. Prayer is the raising of the heart, mind and soul to God, communicating with the invisible world of God, His angels and saints.
One of the most powerful means of private devotion to increase in grace is the Holy Rosary. It is a complete meditation on holiness — the holiness of the life Our Blessed Lord, delivered to us by Our Blessed Mother, Who is always presenting to us Her Divine Son.
For this reason, to increase devotion and meditation on the Holy Rosary, in this time when it is so desperately needed, we are rolling out our second book here at Church Militant, "The Weapon," published by our sister organization St. Michael's Media.
Attaining to a life of grace, a state of being in communion with the otherworldly, is a battle because this is not a neutral affair. There is an enemy who strives at every moment to derail us on our quest to ascend to and remain in the state of grace. This is why Holy Mother Church recommends to us to pray every day, why the Mother of God asks us to pray the Rosary, Her Rosary, every day, why the saints in the Church prayed the Rosary every day. It is a sure defense against the attacks of the enemy, his assaults against your intellect.
We wrote this book to help you with some private meditations to fall in love with the Rosary, to fall deeper in love with the Rosary. It is a weapon, and we can ill afford to not pick it up and use it. Please click on the link to pre-order your copy. They are at the printers now and will be able to be sent out starting in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for your support, and please keep our work here in your prayers.
