No doubt about it, too many Catholics today simply do not know their faith, or what they know of the Faith they understand poorly. A major contributor to this horrible situation is the tremendous lack of catechesis and formation that has been the rule for the past 50 years.
Faithful Catholics, deeply disturbed by this and recognizing the catastrophe that has been brought about by this scenario, are stepping up and dedicating themselves to helping form the next generation by admitting the truth of the current state of affairs, with an eye to the future.
Here at Church Militant and St. Michael's Media, our showcase effort is our Pause Program. We are almost halfway through our second year and happy to announce that things are rolling along splendidly, as you can see.
This year's young men are working hard and learning a lot in the media business — but most importantly, they are growing in their knowledge and love of the Faith. Providing the opportunity for this kind of formation is extremely important to us. We help with formation in an electronic fashion over the internet — and that's good, because there is a need.
But there is also a need for hands-on, practical, on-the-ground formation that is available every day, day in and day out. That's what PAUSE is all about.
Many hundreds of you have been extremely generous in your support of this program, and we are very grateful for your generosity. We'd like to invite your assistance once again so we can keep this important effort a perennial activity of our apostolate. If you can please consider making a donation to help us keep this good work going, we'd greatly appreciate it.
We consider every level of work we do here as extremely important in its own right, and PAUSE is right there on our list. Even though it remains largely out of view from the day-to-day work of the apostolate, the work the young men are doing and learning is very important to our overall effort here.
So if you can help us out again with a donation, it would be very helpful for us. On behalf of the entire apostolate, as well as specifically the PAUSE Program, thank you in advance for your kindness.
