Getting Scriptural

In a very unique way.

November 25, 2021  0

The lack of knowledge of the Faith by a huge number of Catholics is underscored by a huge lack of even a passing familiarity of Scripture, much less teaching and rudimentary information.

All of this leads to a practical inability to actually meditate and concentrate on some of the most beautiful mysteries of the Divine.

Sacred Scripture was once described by Ven. Abp. Fulton Sheen as "God's Love Letters to His chosen."

Indeed, breathed into and inspired directly by the Holy Spirit, the most memorable and awe-inspiring prose in human history is contained within the pages of the books of the Holy Bible.

The chief aim of this apostolate is to be used by Heaven to help save souls. We pray for that every day in chapel as a staff, and it is an intention we take as literally the most serious one we make.

That's why each year, as the Christmas shopping season kicks off, we seek to provide tools and gifts you can purchase as presents that will help inspire a deeper love of the Catholic faith.

This year, we have an unsurpassed gift for your consideration.

The psalms and the book of Proverbs together contain some of the most beloved and well-known passages of Holy Scripture.

St. Jerome ... said, 'Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.'

As many of you are aware, Milo Yiannopoulos has returned to the full practice of his Catholic faith, and a couple months back, he approached us with an idea for recording all the psalms and proverbs in time for the end of the year, for people to give as presents.

Needless to say, we agreed.

Catholics' lack of knowledge of Scripture is, in a word, appalling.

St. Jerome, who translated the Bible from Greek into Latin in the cave at Bethlehem, said, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ."

Church Militant staff pray the Liturgy of the Hours every day in the chapel — which is almost exclusively scriptural — and then, largely comprised of the psalms on a four-week cycle. So when Milo said, "Hey, want to do this?" ... we jumped at it.

In this spellbinding new recording, Milo Yiannopoulos narrates the complete and unabridged Psalms & Proverbs, reading from the 1889 Challoner revision of the Douay-Rheims Bible.

[Transcript unavailable]

The Douay-Rheims translation is faithful to the Latin Vulgate and remains the preferred English translation of the Catholic Bible for traditionally minded Catholics.

This seven-hour, six-CD set includes bonus material, such as new readings of the Act of Contrition, Prayer of St. Francis, St. Patrick's Breastplate Prayer and the Prayer to St. Michael — freshly recorded by Milo for this edition — plus original incidental music by composer William Mahoney.

This collection of the Psalms & Proverbs narrated by Milo Yiannopoulos is simply magnificent — a gift that will be treasured for years.

The Sacred Scriptures were not only canonized by the Catholic Church, they were translated, transcribed, defended, honored and promoted by the One True Faith that gave the world the Bible.

As you move deeper into a devotional life that includes recitation and meditation on the Psalms, you see and hear the foretelling of Our Blessed Lord — of His mission of redemption — as the psalms are just that: prophetic utterances of Him, whom the Holy Spirit inspired David to write of a thousand years before He incarnated.

Touching base and returning to our roots always provides spiritual and emotional stability.

As the world grows more and more tumultuous and uncertain, touching base and returning to our roots always provides spiritual and emotional stability. Listening to this collection will help crowd out the doubt and anxiety and fortify you to engage in battle, serving as a reminder of what — and more importantly, Whom — it is we fight for.

Likewise, on the subject of tumultuous times, we are once again happy to offer our annual calendar, complete with very specific artwork and photos taken right from within the walls of our apostolate.

As you may know, the studio has loads of visitors who are always keen to see what things look like from behind the cameras, and this calendar is designed to provide you with an up-close look at our media home.

It's a good size with sufficient room to be able to make notes in the individual date boxes, and has all the important dates of the Church's liturgical life, as well as dates of high importance to the apostolate, of which so many of you have been so supportive and generous.

So as your Christmas shopping needs begin to come into focus, please consider purchasing either of these, or both, or any other items we have available for your friends, family and even yourself.

Just click on the provided link to make your purchase, which helps us continue doing the main work of this apostolate, which is to be used to help save souls.

Thank you in advance for buying at least some of your Christmas presents from us as well as all your continued support and prayers.
