Back in the 1992 U.S. presidential campaign that saw Bill Clinton knock off incumbent George Herbert Walker Bush and start the massive swing to the Left in D.C., the sex-crazed candidate summed up the entire election in just four words: "It's the economy, stupid" — the quote originally coming from Clinton's adviser and strategist, James Carville, but Clinton was happy to ride it to victory over the hapless Bush senior.
Bush was such a weakling that after his famous utterance at the 1988 Republican Convention of "read my lips, no new taxes," the Democratic Congress got him to do the exact opposite and raise taxes.
Bush saw it as a compromise, the Democrats saw it as blood in the water. Clinton replayed the "read my lips" declaration over and over and over and crushed Bush, convincing Americans that Bush was untrustworthy. By the way, on that point, Clinton was correct. But in general, the elites have created a cottage industry on the single-phrase summation: one line that encapsulates the entire problem or issue that is easily digested by the masses.
"It's the economy, stupid" was brilliant. Inflation was rising, unemployment was rising, taxes were rising and the overall perception in the country was summed up in those four words.
Now, shifting to the Church, the ruling class — the bishops — do everything in their power to deflect from the central issue: homosexuality within their ranks and among priests.
"It's homosexuality, stupid!" is not exactly a phrase the bishops want gaining traction, but it is precisely the point, the single issue responsible for so much damage and destruction of the Faith: active homosexuals within the ordained class coupled with the unwillingness of other bishops to confront the evil head-on.
Five years ago, Church Militant was on a speaking tour throughout Poland, and while there, we had the opportunity to interview a Polish priest who totally gets that "it's homosexuality, stupid!" Fr. Dariusz Oko is the author of a book about the persistent evil within the contemporary priesthood and episcopate and has researched it for many years. He even labeled the issue "homoheresy."
As the bishops in the U.S. prepare to gather in Baltimore in November (and work behind the scenes to prevent our Bishops: Enough is Enough Rally from happening), we thought it would be a good time to revisit this interview.

Try as they might, the city of Baltimore is not going to prevent faithful Catholics from exercising our First Amendment and God-given rights to protect the victims of this evil and demand change. Church Militant has been raked over the coals for over a dozen years by the Church establishment and their lackeys in the supposedly Catholic media for broadcasting all this filth, but we have never wavered in the determination to bring all this to light.
After all, "It's homosexuality, stupid!"
