Earlier this week, the bishops of Arizona (including former bishop of Phoenix Thomas Olmsted, considered a "good" bishop) issued a statement taking a very thinly veiled swipe at faithful Catholics trying to fight the evil of phony Catholic politicians.
The statement, which used the pretext of faithful Catholics violating canon law, was conveniently issued just days after a Phoenix rally was held, sponsored by the group called "Catholics for Catholics." The group is taking dead aim at the scandal and sin of phony Catholics being permitted by the bishops to continue parading themselves around as somehow faithful.
The bishops need to prepare to burn in Hell for these sacrileges and offenses against the Faith and the truth. They attack faithful Catholics left, right and center. And yes, that includes even the so-called good bishops.
Arizona Catholics were shocked that Olmsted affixed his signature to this letter. The four bishops who signed it were Olmsted, Bp. Edward Weisenburger of Tucson, Bp. John Dolan of Phoenix and Wall, whose New Mexico diocese of Gallup bleeds over into Arizona.
What men like this don't get is this: The two things the faithful are sick to death of. First is this duplicity of child murderers being allowed to present themselves as Catholic by the bishops who do nothing about it. And the second point is the faithful are sick to death of being scolded and sidelined for trying to do what the bishops should have done decades ago.
So with that background, we'd like to play the interview we did with the group's spokesman, John Yep, and how thoroughly disgusted they are with the cowardice and hypocrisy of these men. We conducted the interview in our Daily Beat segment from Evening News earlier this week.
